Born in the end of the 70s in Norway, Eirik grew up in the shadow of the cultural and political counterculture which swept the Western world from the Sixties onwards. His parents were full time revolutionaries, inspired by Mao's China and the Soviet Bolsheviks. Eirik spent much of his childhood and adolescence trying to come to grips with competing political and historical narratives, as he tried to find out which story of the world was true; his parents' version or the one presented by "mainstream" society. A lot of his interest for stories comes from this period in his life.

After finishing his liberal arts bachelor's degree, Eirik spent some years traveling the world, playing poker for money, drifting around. He has made several short films and worked in theater as a writer and director. His work has been shown at film festivals, in cinemas, and on the stage. He is now an MFA Candidate in the NYU Graduate Film Program.
